All reports indicate that Alyson Hannigan's hourlong CBS romantic comedy, "How I Met Your Mother," has received a series order, and could be on the air as early as autumn. This is Hannigan's first regular TV role since "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" ceased production. Her co-star in the flashback-happy skein is TV's Doogie, Neil Patrick Harris. It was created by former "Late Show With David Letterman" writers Carter Bays & Craig Thomas. Other pilots CBS has taken to series include the hourlongs "American Crime," "Quantico," "The Unit," "Threshold," and "The Ghost Whisperer." Greenlit sitcoms include "Everything I Know About Men" and "Flesh and Blood." Expect a full CBS fall schedule to emerge as the network edges closer to its Wednesday "upfront" presentation.
